About Raj

Raj Bisram is a very well regarded expert in the antiques world. Along with his business partner he has run Bentley’s Fine Art and Antiques Auctioneers for many years.

Over the years he has developed an expertise and a first class reputation in the antiques world which has led him to becoming a well-known presenter on many popular TV antiques shows. He is one of the celebrity dealers on Channel Four’s Four Rooms and Posh Pawn, an antiques expert and presenter on the BBC’s popular Antiques Roadshow, Antiques Road Trip, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and Bargain Hunt. And many will remember his hillarious first appearance on Would I Lie to You BBC One.

Raj has helped raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity including The Tommy Club (part of the RBLI) of which he was a founding patron.

His other passions include cooking, skiing, cricket and tennis along with bridge and poker in which he has won a tournament. He also loves magic and is a former member of the Magic Circle.

The Early Years

Raj bought his first antique at the age of ten and that was the beginning of his love affair that has spanned nearly fifty years.

He was educated at Highgate School and left to enlist in the army where he became a PTI instructor. Whilst on an army exercise in Austria he showed a natural talent for skiing, leading him to represent the British Army in competitive downhill racing and the slalom.

On leaving the army he became a ski instructor in Austria and to this day is the only Asian qualified ski instructor in Austria.

Raj was the Road Manager to the first aerial ski stunt team called 'The Flying Ski's'.

As a celebrity auctioneer Raj covers top events for major charities such as The Tommy Club (part of RBLI) and Combat Stress.

Television

Raj is an antiques expert on BBC’s highly popular Antiques RoadshowAntiques Road Trip (winners of BAFTA Scotland award), Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and Bargain Hunt. Winners

He was one of the expert dealers on Four Rooms, Channel 4’s award winning show and also appeared on Posh Pawn.
